September 21, 1961 is when the beautiful actress was born as Nancy Ann Travis in New York. She was raised in Framingham, Massachusetts, and Baltimore in a Catholic home by her father, sales manager and social worker mother, Theresa and Gordon Travis. She also has a brother, Gordon Jr.

As she grew up she was so interested in acting that by the age of 7 she was already appearing in plays like Charlotte’s Web in which she played the role of Wilbur the Pig. It was the love of acting that later led her to be part of the Framingham School’s theater productions. After her high school, she went to New York University where she graduated in 1983 with a degree in fine arts.
