
The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) is responsible for the payment of social grants to over 17 million beneficiaries in South Africa. The SASSA grant payment system is because of be replaced by the new South African Revenue Service (SARS) system, called Sassa Srd Apply, from 1 April 2019. The Sassa Srd Apply system will allow grant recipients to apply for and receive their grants via the internet, rather than having to visit a SASSA office. Recipients will have to have a valid bank account to be able to receive their grants via the Sassa Srd Apply system. To manage to use the Sassa Srd Apply system, recipients will need to register on the Sassa website. They will then have the ability to submit an application for a grant, and check their grant status and history online.
