South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) beneficiaries is now able to receive their social grants through bank accounts, as the agency phases out its contract with Cash Paymaster Services (CPS). To open a Sassa bank account, beneficiaries will have to provide their name, ID number, gender and bank details. The easiest way to provide your bank details to Sassa is by completing the banking section on the Sassa green ID book application form. In the event you don't have this form, you can download it from the Sassa website. Once you have completed the form, take it to your nearest bank branch and ask them to open an account for you. The bank staff will help you fill in the form and submit it to Sassa.
