Tom forced to leave The Voice in 'devastating' departure leaving Team Reba at a disadvantage

Tom Nitti had to leave The Voice due to personal reasons. Tom left Team Reba one singer down on The Voice, the country singer judge was the only chair to turn for the army veteran during his audition. His exit has left viewers devastated – but he’s still pursuing his music careeraway from screens.

The Nashville-based musician exited during the season 24 play-offs. It follows Reba McEntire’s last-second turn for the guitarist, as he became the sixth member to join Team Reba on The Voice. Previously, Tom served as a New York State Trooper for eight years and now trains new troopers.

Why did Tom Nitti leave The Voice?

Tom has decided to leave NBC‘s The Voice for personal reasons. He is not expected to continue to participate in the competition, but has said he had to leave for his children and family.

“I had to make probably one of the hardest yet easiest decisions ever and ultimately at the end of the day, my kids will always come first,” he wrote, adding: “For everyone asking, I’m alright and still standing.”

When he auditioned for The Voice, he revealed that he gigs regularly, and that hasn’t changed since leaving. Tom was previously stationed in Germany and deployed to Afghanistan where he got injuries.

Tom leaves The Voice’s Team Reba

Tom has left Reba’s team on The Voice one person down. During the same night of his exit, he put up a digital mixer for sale on Facebook, but has been promoting his Friday night gig in the last week.

He thanked fans for “believing in him” two weeks ago, writing: “Can’t say it enough how blessed I am to have this opportunity! Thank you to EVERYONE for believing in me. #blessed #headdowneyesforward.”

One fan said, “What happened to you tonight on the Voice? Sorry to hear that you left the show.” Another penned: “I hope all is well. Was sorry to hear you left the voice. Good luck in the future.”

Where Tom is after his departure

Tom is continuing to pursue music after leaving The Voice. His girlfriend, Ashley Bryant, is also a singer-songwriter who does several gigs around the Kentucky area.

He recently performed with Ashley at the 7 Hamlets Brewing Company, where he is set to perform on December 17 again. Mostly, Tom spends his days with his children, or going on date nights with Ashley.

At the time of writing, he has not responded to fans asking what happened to him on The Voice. Just a few hours after his exit, Tom was pictured on-stage performing with a friend.
